EPEAT conformity Assessment Protocols guide Qualified Verifiers during verification investigations for conformance to IEEE 1680 and 1680.1. They are also intended to assist subscribers to understand the expectations for how to assess and demonstrate conformance. Note that they are flexible as a general principle they are open to alternative and equivalent ways of demonstrating conformance.

EPEAT Conformity Assessment Protocols Version 1.3
A revised version of the IEEE 1680 computer standard was recently published that splits the existing standard into two parts – 1680, which governs the operations of the registration system, and 1680.1 which contains the standard criteria for desktops, notebooks, thin client, workstations and displays.  The revisions also contain the ‘rules of the road’ for country-specific declarations within the international registration system, adjust the deadline for ENERGY STAR specification adoption, and provide lower level criteria clarifications and adjustments.
